Avantea signed a Licensing Agreement with Genescol Biotecnologìa Reproductiva (Colombia) for the use of technical knowledge focused on animal assisted reproduction.
The reason of the deal is for Genescol to improve capabilities learning from Avantea following techniques:
- Ovum Pick Up in equine, buffalo and cattle; - In vivo oocytes recovery; - Oovytes recovery from slaughterhouse;
- Embryo culture;
- Embryo freezing;
- Embryo thawing/evaluation;
- Hystological evaluation;
- Media preparation for IVM;
- Cell freezing;
- Microtools preparation;
The research team of Genescol come to Italy was formed by: Aldemar Chavez, Kactherine Valdes, Hector Mendez, Ernesto Rueda Gòmez (Gerente).
The training course, held in September 2011 in Avantea Laboratory, was guided by Prof. Cesare Galli, responsible for the licensing deal with Genescol (Colombia).
Training activities were supported by the collaboration with Dr.ssa Giovanna Lazzari, Coordinator of Avantea Research, Gabriella Crotti, Laboratory Responsible, Quality and Security Responsible, Dr. ssa Silvia Colleoni, Researcher and Horse Services Coordinator, Dr. Roberto Duchi, Veterinarian and Bovine Services Coordinator, Paola Turini, Laboratory Technician.
