Gegründet im Jahr 2008

Aufbauend auf zwanzig Jahren Erfahrung seiner Gründer Cesare Galli und Giovanna Lazzari hat sich das Unternehmen als Maßstab für Innovation im Bereich der Reproduktionsbiotechnologie etabliert.

Prof. Cesare Galli

Mitgründer und Geschäftsführer von Avantea srl. Nach dem Abschluss in Veterinärmedizin an der Universität Mailand absolvierte er ein Postdoktorandenstudium in Cambridge (UK), aus dem sich seine vielfältigen wissenschaftlichen Interessen und Beiträge auf dem Gebiet der Reproduktionsbiotechnologie entwickelten – von der in-vitro-Embryoproduktion über das somatische Klonen bei Rindern, Pferden und Schweinen bis hin zur Erzeugung von Tiermodellen für biomedizinische Zwecke.

Zurück in Italien, erzeugte er 1999 den ersten bovinen Klon eines erwachsenen Bullen und 2003 den weltweit ersten geklonten Pferdeembryo. 2008 wurde ihm der ICAR Simmet Award for Animal Reproduction für seine bedeutenden wissenschaftlichen und praktischen Beiträge verliehen. 2017 erhielt er den renommierten Pioneer Award der European Association of Embryo Technologies in Anerkennung seiner Verdienste um die Forschung im Bereich der assistierten tierischen Reproduktion seit Beginn seiner über 30-jährigen Laufbahn.

Er war Präsident der European Embryo Transfer Association (1997–2000), Präsident der International Embryo Technology Society (2021–2022) und außerordentlicher Professor für Reproduktionsbiotechnologie an der Universität Bologna (2004–2017). Prof. Galli verfügt über ministerielle und regionale Zulassungen als Reproduktionszentrum für Embryonen verschiedener Tierarten und ist Autor von über 180 Publikationen in internationalen wissenschaftlichen Fachzeitschriften.

Dr. Giovanna Lazzari

Mitgründerin von Avantea srl. Abschluss in Veterinärmedizin an der Universität Mailand mit voller Punktzahl und Auszeichnung. Nach einer Ausbildungszeit in der chirurgischen Klinik der Universität absolvierte sie ein postgraduales Studium in Cambridge (UK), wo sie spezifische Kenntnisse im Bereich der Reproduktion bei Tieren erwarb.

Zurück in Italien konzentrierte sie ihre berufliche Tätigkeit und Forschung auf Techniken der assistierten Reproduktion und erhielt zahlreiche Förderungen in Zusammenarbeit mit europäischen Universitäten und veterinärmedizinischen Kliniken. In dieser Zeit vertrat sie die Fachkräfte für Embryotransfer als Präsidentin der Italienischen Gesellschaft für Embryotransfer (1999–2002) und anschließend der European Association of Embryo Technologies (2007–2008).

Bei Avantea leitet sie die Aktivitäten des Labors für assistierte Reproduktion durch einen kontinuierlichen Verbesserungsprozess und koordiniert die Dienstleistungen für die Kunden. Autorin zahlreicher wissenschaftlicher Publikationen in internationalen Fachzeitschriften.

Dr. Silvio Audisio

CEO von Avantea. Abschluss in Chemie und pharmazeutischen Technologien an der Universität Turin im Jahr 1995. Anschließend setzte er seine akademische Laufbahn mit einem Forschungsstipendium an der Universität Edinburgh fort.

Nach seiner Rückkehr nach Italien arbeitete er kurzzeitig als Apotheker, bevor er in die pharmazeutische Industrie wechselte. Seine Karriere begann bei Sigma-Tau, gefolgt von zehn Jahren bei Pfizer, wo er zunehmend verantwortungsvollere Positionen im Bereich Sales & Marketing innehatte. 2011 wechselte er in den Bereich der Plasmaderivate bei Kedrion. Nach einer kurzen Phase in Italien als Director Sales & Contract Manufacturing übernahm er 2014 die Leitung der europäischen Geschäftsaktivitäten in Wien. Dort erschloss er den deutschen Markt, gründete eine Tochtergesellschaft in Polen und wurde zum Geschäftsführer von Kedrion International ernannt.

Parallel dazu war er Geschäftsführer der Tochtergesellschaften in der Schweiz und in Portugal. 2019 wechselte er zu Biotest AG als Vice President Commercial Operations für Osteuropa und Südeuropa. Später übernahm er zusätzlich Verantwortung für Zentralasien, Lateinamerika (LATAM) und den Nahen Osten und Nordafrika (MENA), während er zugleich Geschäftsführer von Biotest Italia war. 2024 trat er Avantea bei, mit dem ehrgeizigen Ziel, zur Expansion und Exzellenz der Dienstleistungen des Unternehmens beizutragen.

Marco Muscariello

Marco is Marketing Manager at Avantea, with over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector. Graduated in Business and Management, he gained international experience working in Frankfurt in the Global Marketing of Biotest AG, where he managed communication strategies and brand positioning for international markets. In Avantea he is responsible for the marketing and communication strategy, with the aim of strengthening brand awareness and expanding the network of customers and partners.

Elisabetta Esposito

Elisabetta is a Finance Manager at Avantea, graduated in Economics and Business Law, with a solid experience in accounting and financial control. After four years as an auditor at PWC, where she followed companies in the industrial sector, she worked for six years in a multinational company in the Oil & Gas sector as Financial Controller.

At Avantea, she is responsible for the regular maintenance of accounting, periodic reporting and all Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities, ensuring efficient and strategic financial management.

Chiara Barbiani

Chiara holds a degree in Economics and Management from the State University of Milan and subsequently obtained a Master in Digital Marketing at 24 Ore Business School. She has experience in the sector since 2020 and has developed skills in administrative management and customer support.

In Avantea, it is part of the Administrative Office and Customer Service, taking care of the management of administrative activities and the relationship with customers, guaranteeing a continuous and high quality support. She is also responsible for coordinating internal operations, contributing to the company’s efficiency and success.

Giulia Canevari

Giulia holds the role of Administrative Employee – Customer Service, managing key administrative activities and overseeing customer relations. She also supports the coordination of internal operations, contributing to smooth processes, clear communication, and a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.

She has gained solid experience in the service sector, where she developed a structured professional background in management and administration, working with both national and international clients. This path has allowed her to develop strong organizational and communication skills, which she now applies effectively across company activities.

Roberto Duchi

Roberto is a veterinary doctor, freelance since 1988. He collaborates with the members of Avantea from the very beginning. He has extensive experience in gynecology and embryo transfer.

 At Avantea, he is responsible for the operation of clinical breeding services for horse and cattle breeders in Italy and abroad, as well as for the reproductive management and care of animals involved in research programmes. Responsible for the animal hospital and experimental animal enclosure services. Responsible for the clinical services of OPU and ET for equine and bovine animals, as well as maintaining relations with public veterinary services.

Giovanni Dolci

Giovanni is a veterinary doctor, graduated from the University of Milan, with experience in the field of reproduction and equine breeding. He has served as trustee for JCI (Italian Jockey Club), FISE, former Unire-Mipaaf and ANICA. For 25 years he was director of an Equine Breeding Centre in Bergamo and, subsequently, worked as resident veterinarian at the Eifel Gold Ranch in Belgium. Since 2016 he has been working with Avantea, taking care of the clinical procedures and OPU services for horses, to which he has been exclusively dedicated since 2020.

Massimo Benedetti

Massimo is a veterinary surgeon with ten years of experience in the field of equine reproduction. In Avantea he deals with OPU and embryo transfer, contributing to the management and optimization of reproductive processes to ensure the best results for farmers.

Carlotta Bocci

Carlotta is a veterinary doctor, graduated from the University of Pisa in 2015 with a thesis on the in vitro viability of fresh and vitrified donkey embryos. She has several international work experiences, including an Erasmus traineeship at the University of Cordoba and clinical activity in breeding stations and veterinary clinics in Scotland and France. From 2020 to 2022 she was part of the Equine breeding group at the University of Pisa as a clinical veterinarian, participating in research and student training activities, and holding an externship at the University of Utrecht. Since 2020, she has been engaged in the ECAR College residency program, which is currently underway.. She is MRCVS, member of the Ordre des Vétérinaires Français and the European Placenta Group (EPG). In Avantea, she is responsible for Ovum Pick-Up, embryo transplantation and donor and recipient management.

Antonio Coppola

Antonio is a Veterinary Doctor, with a postgraduate specialization in Physiopathology of Animal Reproduction obtained at the University of Bari. He has almost ten years' experience in the Netherlands, where he was head of a veterinary department at an equine breeding centre. In Avantea, he is responsible for Ovum Pick-Up, embryo transplantation, fetal sexing and reproductive management of the receiving population, contributing to the optimization of reproductive processes and improvement of breeding performance.

Our team ensures the highest standards of quality and innovation to support breeders, veterinary clinics, and research institutes.

Silvia Colleoni

Silvia is Head of the Assisted Reproduction Laboratory at Avantea. Graduated in Biotechnology at the University of Milan, she subsequently obtained her PhD. She has many years of experience in the field of assisted reproduction and stem cells and is the author of numerous scientific publications. In Avantea, as well as leading the activities of the assisted reproduction laboratory, she is responsible for logistics management for foreign clinics and participates in the BioRescue project, contributing to the development of advanced reproduction techniques applied to endangered species.

Maria Barandalla

Maria holds a degree in Reproductive Technologies from the University of Oviedo (Spain) and obtained her PhD in 2017 thanks to a Marie Curie scholarship (MSCA EU), in collaboration between Avantea and the University of Utrecht (Netherlands). In Avantea, she deals with assisted reproduction, micromanipulation of oocytes and embryos and preimplantation genetic tests. She has a particular interest in the cell and molecular biology of the embryo and is responsible for the cloning service.

Arianna Peri

Arianna has a degree in Biological Sciences and subsequently obtained her master’s degree in Experimental and Applied Biology at the University of Pavia, where she also obtained a Master’s Degree in Forensic Science. With several years of experience in veterinary-assisted reproduction, particularly in equine reproduction, she is primarily responsible for laboratory activities, assisted reproduction services such as ICSI and the logistics of equine embryos and semen.

Paola Turini

Paola has a solid background in assisted reproduction techniques. She is part of the laboratory team, taking care of the management of the equine assisted reproduction semen material and the daily preparation of the laboratory material. In Avantea, she is also responsible for the Ovum Pick-Up bovine service and the production of embryos for bovine, porcine and buffalo species, contributing to the development and optimization of reproductive techniques.

Marco Scaglia

Marco holds a degree in Veterinary Biotechnology from the University of Milan and is currently working on an industrial doctorate in collaboration with the same university. His research is focused on the analysis of the morphokinetics of equine embryonic development, with the objective of improving the selection methods of embryos produced in vitro through OPU-ICSI. He has been part of the Avantea laboratory team for three years, dealing with assisted reproduction and animal cloning.

Marta Maffini

Marta has a degree in Biology and Biomedical Applications. In Avantea, she is a Laboratory Technician, contributing to the provision of equine assisted reproduction services, supporting laboratory activities and providing assistance in administrative activities.

Sofia Botti

Sofia has a degree in Animal Science and a Master’s degree in Veterinary Biotechnology at the University of Bologna.

In Avantea, she works as a laboratory technician, contributing to activities related to equine assisted reproduction services and supporting the various operational stages of laboratory processes.

Research

Avantea participates in national and international research projects, collaborating with universities, research centers, and companies to contribute to scientific innovation in the field of reproductive biotechnology and animal genetics.

Andrea Perota

Andrea is Head of the Molecular Biology Laboratory and Researcher in the field of Veterinary Biotechnology applied to the biomedical sector. He holds a PhD (PhD) and is the author of 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications (h-index = 15) and 2 international patents. Since 2004, he has been involved in the design and in vitro validation of techniques and materials for the genetic modification of somatic cells, aimed at generating animal models (pigs and cattle) for biomedical research.

At Avantea, he contributes to the development of advanced technologies in applied genetics and translational research.

Irina Lagutina

Irina has a degree in Biology and a PhD in Biotechnology (PhD). she is a Senior Researcher, with extensive experience in the micromanipulation of oocytes and embryos of several domestic species and a particular interest in somatic cloning and nuclear reprogramming in bovine, equine and porcine species.

She is the author of numerous scientific publications and, in Avantea, she also devotes herself to the training of new human resources in the field of cell biology and animal reproduction, contributing to the growth and development of specialist skills in the sector.

Constanza Lopez

Constanza has a degree in Biotechnology and a PhD in Biological Sciences (PhD). Participated in several research projects through doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships between 2007 and 2022, leading to the publication of 11 peer-reviewed articles (h-index = 8), 1 patent and several oral presentations at scientific conferences.

At Avantea, she is involved in molecular biology techniques for the characterisation of pig and bovine models in the biomedical field, as well as nutritional biochemistry.

Giulia Brillantino

Giulia has a degree in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Brescia. She completed the traineeship in Avantea, deepening the techniques of production of embryos and animals for xenotransplantation.

Currently, she is part of the laboratory team, supporting the equine and porcine assisted reproduction activities. It is also involved in molecular and cell biology, contributing to the production and characterisation of genetically modified animal models.

Maria Pederneschi

Mare Stables

The team dedicated to animal care, facility management, and maintaining environments to ensure the highest well-being of mares and other farmed species.

Gianluca Lazzarini

Gianluca is Agrotecnico and in Avantea he deals with the organization of agricultural staff and the management and maintenance of equipment. He is responsible for the care of the green and irrigation system, as well as seasonal treatments with insecticides and herbicides. It also supports the veterinarians in their daily activities, takes care of the management of animals in hospital and the recovery of biological material for scientific research in the laboratory.

Samuele Concari

Samuele has been part of the Avantea team since 2022. He is responsible for animal feed, stable management and green care. It also supports veterinarians in their daily activities, contributing to animal welfare and management.

Giovanni Tessaroli

Giovanni is a Livestock Specialist, he takes care of the welfare of animals from the entrance to Avantea to the exit.

Francesco Taffurelli

Francesco is a Livestock Worker, with four years of experience in the horse and pig sector. In Avantea, he is responsible for the feeding, cleaning and management of horses on the ground, as well as grooming activities and veterinary care, contributing to animal welfare.

Mauro Zani

Mauro is an agricultural expert and has been part of the Avantea team since July 2023. He manages the animal enclosures and takes care of the animals in hospital. It also supports veterinarians during interventions and in daily activities, contributing to animal welfare and management.
