Opgericht in 2008
Gebaseerd op de twintig jaar ervaring van de oprichters, Cesare Galli en Giovanna Lazzari, heeft het bedrijf zich gevestigd als referentiepunt voor innovatie in voortplantingsbiotechnologie.

Alle activiteiten worden uitgevoerd in overeenstemming met de geldende veterinaire regelgeving en onder toezicht van een onafhankelijk ethisch comité. Avantea is gecertificeerd volgens UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 om de hoge kwaliteit van haar processen te garanderen.
Prof. Cesare Galli
Medeoprichter en algemeen directeur van Avantea srl. Na zijn afstuderen in diergeneeskunde aan de Universiteit van Milaan behaalde hij een postdoctoraal diploma in Cambridge (VK), waar hij zijn brede wetenschappelijke interesses en bijdragen in voortplantingsbiotechnologie ontwikkelde: van in-vitrofertilisatie tot somatisch klonen bij runderen, paarden en varkens, en de creatie van diermodellen voor biomedische toepassingen.
Terug in Italië produceerde hij het eerste rundveeclone van een volwassen stier (1999) en de eerste gekloonde paard ter wereld (2003). In 2008 ontving hij de ICAR Simmet Award for Animal Reproduction voor zijn belangrijke wetenschappelijke en toegepaste bijdragen. In 2017 kreeg hij de prestigieuze Pioneer Award van de European Association of Embryo Technologies als erkenning voor zijn dertigjarige carrière in onderzoek naar voortplanting.
Hij was voorzitter van de European Embryo Transfer Association (1997-2000), voorzitter van de International Embryo Technology Society (2021-2022) en universitair hoofddocent voortplantingsbiotechnologie aan de Universiteit van Bologna (2004-2017). Prof. Galli beschikt over ministeriële en regionale vergunningen als reproductiecentrum voor embryo’s bij meerdere diersoorten en is auteur van meer dan 180 publicaties in internationale wetenschappelijke tijdschriften.


Dr. Giovanna Lazzari
Medeoprichter van Avantea srl. Afgestudeerd in diergeneeskunde aan de Universiteit van Milaan met hoogste onderscheiding. Na een opleiding aan de chirurgische kliniek van de universiteit voltooide zij haar postdoctorale studies in Cambridge (VK), waar ze specifieke kennis verwierf op het gebied van dierlijke voortplanting.
Terug in Italië richtte ze zich op geassisteerde voortplantingstechnieken, en werkte zij samen met Europese universiteiten en dierenklinieken aan onderzoeksprojecten met diverse financieringen. Ze vertegenwoordigde de sector als voorzitter van de Italiaanse Vereniging voor Embryotransfer (1999-2002) en later van de European Association of Embryo Technologies (2007-2008).
Binnen Avantea leidt zij het laboratorium voor geassisteerde voortplanting met een constante focus op kwaliteitsverbetering en coördineert zij de dienstverlening aan klanten. Ze is auteur van talrijke publicaties in internationale wetenschappelijke tijdschriften.
Dr. Silvio Audisio
CEO van Avantea. Afgestudeerd in Chemie en Farmaceutische Technologie aan de Universiteit van Turijn in 1995, vervolgde hij zijn academische carrière met een onderzoeksbeurs aan de Universiteit van Edinburgh.
Na terugkeer in Italië werkte hij kort als apotheker, waarna hij overstapte naar de farmaceutische industrie. Hij begon bij Sigma-Tau en werkte tien jaar bij Pfizer in functies met toenemende verantwoordelijkheid in Sales & Marketing. In 2011 stapte hij over naar plasmaderivaten bij Kedrion. Na een korte periode als Sales & Contract Manufacturing Director in Italië, verhuisde hij in 2014 naar Wenen om de commerciële activiteiten in Europa te leiden. Hij zette de markt op in Duitsland en richtte een dochteronderneming op in Polen, en werd benoemd tot Managing Director van Kedrion International.
Tegelijkertijd was hij ook Managing Director van de Zwitserse en Portugese vestigingen. In 2019 trad hij toe tot Biotest AG als Vice President Commercial Operations voor Oost- en Zuid-Europa. Zijn verantwoordelijkheid breidde zich later uit tot Centraal-Azië, LATAM en MENA, terwijl hij ook Managing Director was van Biotest Italia. In 2024 trad hij toe tot Avantea met als doel de expansie en uitmuntendheid van haar diensten verder te versterken.

Roberto Duchi
Silvio è il CEO di Avantea. È laureato in Chimica e Tecnologie Farmaceutiche presso l’Università di Torino nel 1995, ha proseguito la sua carriera accademica con una fellowship in NMR presso l’Università di Edimburgo. Tornato in Italia, ha lavorato brevemente come farmacista prima di entrare nell’industria farmaceutica. Ha iniziato in Sigma-Tau e, successivamente, ha trascorso 10 anni in Pfizer, ricoprendo ruoli di crescente responsabilità in ambito Sales & Marketing. Nel 2011 è entrato nel settore dei plasmaderivati, approdando in Kedrion. Dopo un breve periodo in Italia come Direttore Vendite e Responsabile del Conto Lavoro, si è trasferito a Vienna nel 2014 per gestire le operazioni commerciali del mercato europeo. Ha aperto il mercato in Germania e la filiale in Polonia, venendo nominato Amministratore Delegato di Kedrion International. Contestualmente, ha ricoperto il ruolo di Amministratore Delegato delle filiali svizzera e portoghese. Nel 2019 è entrato in Biotest AG come VP Head of Commercial Operations per l’Europa dell’Est e del Sud, successivamente per l’Asia Centrale, LATAM e MENA, oltre a essere Amministratore Delegato di Biotest Italia. Nel 2024 è entrato in Avantea con l’ambizioso obiettivo di contribuire all’espansione e alla diffusione dei servizi e dell’eccellenza di questa realtà.

Roberto Duchi
Roberto is a veterinary doctor, freelance since 1988. He collaborates with the members of Avantea from the very beginning. He has extensive experience in gynecology and embryo transfer.
At Avantea, he is responsible for the operation of clinical breeding services for horse and cattle breeders in Italy and abroad, as well as for the reproductive management and care of animals involved in research programmes. Responsible for the animal hospital and experimental animal enclosure services. Responsible for the clinical services of OPU and ET for equine and bovine animals, as well as maintaining relations with public veterinary services.
Giovanni Dolci
Giovanni is a veterinary doctor, graduated from the University of Milan, with experience in the field of reproduction and equine breeding. He has served as trustee for JCI (Italian Jockey Club), FISE, former Unire-Mipaaf and ANICA. For 25 years he was director of an Equine Breeding Centre in Bergamo and, subsequently, worked as resident veterinarian at the Eifel Gold Ranch in Belgium. Since 2016 he has been working with Avantea, taking care of the clinical procedures and OPU services for horses, to which he has been exclusively dedicated since 2020.
Massimo Benedetti
Massimo is a veterinary surgeon with ten years of experience in the field of equine reproduction. In Avantea he deals with OPU and embryo transfer, contributing to the management and optimization of reproductive processes to ensure the best results for farmers.
Carlotta Bocci
Carlotta is a veterinary doctor, graduated from the University of Pisa in 2015 with a thesis on the in vitro viability of fresh and vitrified donkey embryos. She has several international work experiences, including an Erasmus traineeship at the University of Cordoba and clinical activity in breeding stations and veterinary clinics in Scotland and France. From 2020 to 2022 she was part of the Equine breeding group at the University of Pisa as a clinical veterinarian, participating in research and student training activities, and holding an externship at the University of Utrecht. Since 2020, she has been engaged in the ECAR College residency program, which is currently underway.. She is MRCVS, member of the Ordre des Vétérinaires Français and the European Placenta Group (EPG). In Avantea, she is responsible for Ovum Pick-Up, embryo transplantation and donor and recipient management.
Lorenza Landriscina
Lorenza is a Veterinary Doctor, graduated from the State University of Milan in 2016 with a thesis on the Ovum Pick-Up in the equine species, carried out in collaboration with Avantea. In 2022 she completed the Graduate School of Equine Medicine and Surgery at the same university, with a thesis on Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) in equine reproduction.
She has gained work experience in veterinary clinics in Italy and abroad, including Equibreed NZ, participating in research projects and scientific publications.
In Avantea, she is responsible for the services of Ovum Pick-Up, embryo transplantation and monitoring of receiving horses, contributing to the optimization of equine reproductive techniques.
Antonio Coppola
Antonio is a Veterinary Doctor, with a postgraduate specialization in Physiopathology of Animal Reproduction obtained at the University of Bari. He has almost ten years' experience in the Netherlands, where he was head of a veterinary department at an equine breeding centre. In Avantea, he is responsible for Ovum Pick-Up, embryo transplantation, fetal sexing and reproductive management of the receiving population, contributing to the optimization of reproductive processes and improvement of breeding performance.
Agata Pigoli
Agata is a Veterinary Assistant and Manager of the donor horses, with eight years of experience in the field of breeding sport horses. Graduated in Breeding and Animal Welfare in 2017 at the University of Milan, she obtained the qualification to artificial fertilization for the equine species. In Avantea, she takes care of the care, management and welfare of horses and animals housed, helping to ensure optimal conditions for donors and recipients.

Silvia Colleoni
Silvia is Head of the Assisted Reproduction Laboratory at Avantea. Graduated in Biotechnology at the University of Milan, she subsequently obtained her PhD. She has many years of experience in the field of assisted reproduction and stem cells and is the author of numerous scientific publications. In Avantea, as well as leading the activities of the assisted reproduction laboratory, she is responsible for logistics management for foreign clinics and participates in the BioRescue project, contributing to the development of advanced reproduction techniques applied to endangered species.
Maria Barandalla
Maria holds a degree in Reproductive Technologies from the University of Oviedo (Spain) and obtained her PhD in 2017 thanks to a Marie Curie scholarship (MSCA EU), in collaboration between Avantea and the University of Utrecht (Netherlands). In Avantea, she deals with assisted reproduction, micromanipulation of oocytes and embryos and preimplantation genetic tests. She has a particular interest in the cell and molecular biology of the embryo and is responsible for the cloning service.
Arianna Peri
Arianna has a degree in Biological Sciences and subsequently obtained her master’s degree in Experimental and Applied Biology at the University of Pavia, where she also obtained a Master’s Degree in Forensic Science. With several years of experience in veterinary-assisted reproduction, particularly in equine reproduction, she is primarily responsible for laboratory activities, assisted reproduction services such as ICSI and the logistics of equine embryos and semen.
Giulia Lini
Giulia has a degree in Cell Molecular Biology from the University of Milan. She is part of the laboratory team for assisted reproduction services and, more recently, has taken on the role of Quality Management Manager, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Paola Turini
Paola has a solid background in assisted reproduction techniques. She is part of the laboratory team, taking care of the management of the equine assisted reproduction semen material and the daily preparation of the laboratory material. In Avantea, she is also responsible for the Ovum Pick-Up bovine service and the production of embryos for bovine, porcine and buffalo species, contributing to the development and optimization of reproductive techniques.
Marco Scaglia
Marco holds a degree in Veterinary Biotechnology from the University of Milan and is currently working on an industrial doctorate in collaboration with the same university. His research is focused on the analysis of the morphokinetics of equine embryonic development, with the objective of improving the selection methods of embryos produced in vitro through OPU-ICSI. He has been part of the Avantea laboratory team for three years, dealing with assisted reproduction and animal cloning.
Marta Maffini
Marta has a degree in Biology and Biomedical Applications. In Avantea, she is a Laboratory Technician, contributing to the provision of equine assisted reproduction services, supporting laboratory activities and providing assistance in administrative activities.

Andrea Perota
Andrea is Head of the Molecular Biology Laboratory and Researcher in the field of Veterinary Biotechnology applied to the biomedical sector. He holds a PhD (PhD) and is the author of 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications (h-index = 15) and 2 international patents. Since 2004, he has been involved in the design and in vitro validation of techniques and materials for the genetic modification of somatic cells, aimed at generating animal models (pigs and cattle) for biomedical research.
At Avantea, he contributes to the development of advanced technologies in applied genetics and translational research.
Irina Lagutina
Irina has a degree in Biology and a PhD in Biotechnology (PhD). she is a Senior Researcher, with extensive experience in the micromanipulation of oocytes and embryos of several domestic species and a particular interest in somatic cloning and nuclear reprogramming in bovine, equine and porcine species.
She is the author of numerous scientific publications and, in Avantea, she also devotes herself to the training of new human resources in the field of cell biology and animal reproduction, contributing to the growth and development of specialist skills in the sector.
Constanza Lopez
Constanza has a degree in Biotechnology and a PhD in Biological Sciences (PhD). Participated in several research projects through doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships between 2007 and 2022, leading to the publication of 11 peer-reviewed articles (h-index = 8), 1 patent and several oral presentations at scientific conferences.
At Avantea, she is involved in molecular biology techniques for the characterisation of pig and bovine models in the biomedical field, as well as nutritional biochemistry.
Giulia Brillantino
Giulia has a degree in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Brescia. She completed the traineeship in Avantea, deepening the techniques of production of embryos and animals for xenotransplantation.
Currently, she is part of the laboratory team, supporting the equine and porcine assisted reproduction activities. It is also involved in molecular and cell biology, contributing to the production and characterisation of genetically modified animal models.
Business office
The organizational and management core of Avantea, responsible for customer relations, logistics, administrative support, and strategic development.
Elisabetta Esposito
Elisabetta is a Finance Manager at Avantea, graduated in Economics and Business Law, with a solid experience in accounting and financial control. After four years as an auditor at PWC, where she followed companies in the industrial sector, she worked for six years in a multinational company in the Oil & Gas sector as Financial Controller.
At Avantea, she is responsible for the regular maintenance of accounting, periodic reporting and all Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities, ensuring efficient and strategic financial management.
Marco Muscariello
Marco is Marketing Manager at Avantea, with over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector. Graduated in Business and Management, he gained international experience working in Frankfurt in the Global Marketing of Biotest AG, where he managed communication strategies and brand positioning for international markets. In Avantea he is responsible for the marketing and communication strategy, with the aim of strengthening brand awareness and expanding the network of customers and partners.
Chiara Barbiani
Chiara holds a degree in Economics and Management from the State University of Milan and subsequently obtained a Master in Digital Marketing at 24 Ore Business School. She has experience in the sector since 2020 and has developed skills in administrative management and customer support.
In Avantea, it is part of the Administrative Office and Customer Service, taking care of the management of administrative activities and the relationship with customers, guaranteeing a continuous and high quality support. She is also responsible for coordinating internal operations, contributing to the company’s efficiency and success.
Mare Stables
The team dedicated to animal care, facility management, and maintaining environments to ensure the highest well-being of mares and other farmed species.
Gianluca Lazzarini
Gianluca is Agrotecnico and in Avantea he deals with the organization of agricultural staff and the management and maintenance of equipment. He is responsible for the care of the green and irrigation system, as well as seasonal treatments with insecticides and herbicides. It also supports the veterinarians in their daily activities, takes care of the management of animals in hospital and the recovery of biological material for scientific research in the laboratory.
Samuele Concari
Samuele has been part of the Avantea team since 2022. He is responsible for animal feed, stable management and green care. It also supports veterinarians in their daily activities, contributing to animal welfare and management.
Giovanni Tessaroli
Giovanni is a Livestock Specialist, he takes care of the welfare of animals from the entrance to Avantea to the exit.
Francesco Taffurelli
Francesco is a Livestock Worker, with four years of experience in the horse and pig sector. In Avantea, he is responsible for the feeding, cleaning and management of horses on the ground, as well as grooming activities and veterinary care, contributing to animal welfare.
Mauro Zani
Mauro is an agricultural expert and has been part of the Avantea team since July 2023. He manages the animal enclosures and takes care of the animals in hospital. It also supports veterinarians during interventions and in daily activities, contributing to animal welfare and management.

Antonio Coppola
Antonio is a Veterinary Doctor, with a postgraduate specialization in Physiopathology of Animal Reproduction obtained at the University of Bari. In Avantea, he is responsible for Ovum Pick-Up, embryo transplantation, fetal sexing and reproductive management of the receiving population, contributing to the optimization of reproductive processes and improvement of breeding performance.

Agata Pigoli
Agata is a Veterinary Assistant and Manager of the donor horses, with eight years of experience in the field of breeding sport horses. Graduated in Breeding and Animal Welfare in 2017 at the University of Milan, she obtained the qualification to artificial fertilization for the equine species. In Avantea, she takes care of the care, management and welfare of horses and animals housed, helping to ensure optimal conditions for donors and recipients.

Silvia Colleoni
Silvia is Head of the Assisted Reproduction Laboratory at Avantea. Graduated in Biotechnology at the University of Milan, she subsequently obtained her PhD. She has many years of experience in the field of assisted reproduction and stem cells and is the author of numerous scientific publications. In Avantea, as well as leading the activities of the assisted reproduction laboratory, she is responsible for logistics management for foreign clinics and participates in the BioRescue project, contributing to the development of advanced reproduction techniques applied to endangered species.

Maria Barandalla
Maria holds a degree in Reproductive Technologies from the University of Oviedo (Spain) and obtained her PhD in 2017 thanks to a Marie Curie scholarship (MSCA EU), in collaboration between Avantea and the University of Utrecht (Netherlands). In Avantea, she deals with assisted reproduction, micromanipulation of oocytes and embryos and preimplantation genetic tests. She has a particular interest in the cell and molecular biology of the embryo and is responsible for the cloning service.

Arianna Peri
Arianna has a degree in Biological Sciences and subsequently obtained her master’s degree in Experimental and Applied Biology at the University of Pavia, where she also obtained a Master’s Degree in Forensic Science. With several years of experience in veterinary-assisted reproduction, particularly in equine reproduction, she is primarily responsible for laboratory activities, assisted reproduction services such as ICSI and the logistics of equine embryos and semen.

Giulia Lini
Giulia has a degree in Cell Molecular Biology from the University of Milan. She is part of the laboratory team for assisted reproduction services and, more recently, has taken on the role of Quality Management Manager, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards.

Paola Turini
Paola has a solid background in assisted reproduction techniques. She is part of the laboratory team, taking care of the management of the equine assisted reproduction semen material and the daily preparation of the laboratory material. In Avantea, she is also responsible for the Ovum Pick-Up bovine service and the production of embryos for bovine, porcine and buffalo species, contributing to the development and optimization of reproductive techniques.

Marco Scaglia
Marco holds a degree in Veterinary Biotechnology from the University of Milan and is currently working on an industrial doctorate in collaboration with the same university. His research is focused on the analysis of the morphokinetics of equine embryonic development, with the objective of improving the selection methods of embryos produced in vitro through OPU-ICSI. He has been part of the Avantea laboratory team for three years, dealing with assisted reproduction and animal cloning.

Marta Maffini
Marta has a degree in Biology and Biomedical Applications. In Avantea, she is a Laboratory Technician, contributing to the provision of equine assisted reproduction services, supporting laboratory activities and providing assistance in administrative activities.

Andrea Perota
Andrea is Head of the Molecular Biology Laboratory and Researcher in the field of Veterinary Biotechnology applied to the biomedical sector. He holds a PhD (PhD) and is the author of 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications (h-index = 15) and 2 international patents. Since 2004, he has been involved in the design and in vitro validation of techniques and materials for the genetic modification of somatic cells, aimed at generating animal models (pigs and cattle) for biomedical research.
At Avantea, he contributes to the development of advanced technologies in applied genetics and translational research.

Irina Lagutina
Irina has a degree in Biology and a PhD in Biotechnology (PhD). she is a Senior Researcher, with extensive experience in the micromanipulation of oocytes and embryos of several domestic species and a particular interest in somatic cloning and nuclear reprogramming in bovine, equine and porcine species.
She is the author of numerous scientific publications and, in Avantea, she also devotes herself to the training of new human resources in the field of cell biology and animal reproduction, contributing to the growth and development of specialist skills in the sector.

Constanza has a degree in Biotechnology and a PhD in Biological Sciences (PhD). Gianluca is Agrotecnico and in Avantea he deals with the organization of agricultural staff and the management and maintenance of equipment. He is responsible for the care of the green and irrigation system, as well as seasonal treatments with insecticides and herbicides. It also supports the veterinarians in their daily activities, takes care of the management of animals in hospital and the recovery of biological material for scientific research in the laboratory.
