A second chance for your champions’ genetics.
Genetic recovery for animals.
Genetic recovery is an innovative technique that makes it possible to obtain embryos from animals of high genetic value, even when they are no longer able to reproduce naturally.
If a valuable animal has reached the end of its breeding career, is facing health problems, or has died unexpectedly, this procedure makes it possible to preserve its genetic heritage and ensure the continuity of its bloodline.
We work with stallion centres and private owners to preserve reproductive material.
Why choose genetic recovery?
Preserve genetic value → Obtain embryos from valuable animals even when they can no longer reproduce naturally.
Maximum reproductive flexibility → Embryos can be transferred immediately or frozen for future transfer.
Bloodline continuity → Preserve the best genetic characteristics of your mare or cow over time.
A solution for every stage of reproductive life → Useful in cases of infertility, injury, disease, the end of a breeding career or sudden death, making it possible to preserve a genetic heritage that would otherwise be lost forever.
The result is an animal genetically identical to the original, with the same reproductive, genetic and sporting potential.
How does it work?
01
Oocyte retrieval.
The animal’s ovaries are recovered after its death or in cases where it is no longer able to reproduce.
02
In vitro fertilisation (ICSI)
The oocytes are fertilised in the laboratory using semen selected by the owner.
03
Embryo development
The fertilised oocytes develop into embryos until they reach the blastocyst stage.
04
Transfer or preservation
The embryos can be transferred immediately to a surrogate mother or frozen for future use.
Who can benefit from genetic recovery?
Breeders of sport horses and cattle → To preserve the genetics of valuable mares or breeding bulls.
Owners of sport horses → To obtain embryos from a competition mare even after an accident or sudden death.
Anyone wishing to protect the genetics of a unique animal → A solution to ensure the continuity of the bloodline of animals of exceptional value.
